Seed Collection


Grade Two Seed Collection

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Your child will need to do a simple project at home to bring in for Science class.  Parents will need to help with this project.  This project will be a large part of your child’s first quarter Science grade.  Here’s what is required:
1.     9 different kinds of seeds washed, dried, and glued onto a poster or paper.  (No large posters, please.  Draw lines to divide a piece of paper or card stock into nine boxes, and put one seed in each box.)

2.     Neatly label each seed with the name of the plant it came from. (This part may NOT be typed, and must be in the child’s handwriting.)

3.     Next to each seed, draw a picture of the plant or fruit or vegetable it came from.

4.     Your project will be due on Tuesday October 18.

Don’t worry.  This should be fun for you and your child as you work on it together.  See the back of this paper for a sample project.  The specific seeds in the sample are not required.  Please use any seeds you find outside or from food you eat.
