My name is Mrs. Kim Gloede (pronounced "Glady" - rhymes with "lady"). I went to Winona State University in Minnesota for my undergrad training, and later U-W Whitewater for my master's degree. I started teaching in 1977. I stayed home 9 years to raise children from 1984-1993, and I have been back to teaching full-time ever since. Some of my other teaching experiences besides second grade include teaching third grade, fifth grade, sixth grade, first grade, Learning Disabilities, and Bilingual. A long time ago I was the translator for the District, and the elementary coordinator of the Bilingual Program. I have also taught classes for Gateway and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
I have two daughters who are all grown-up and gone, and have given me 5 grandchildren!! I also helped raise 4 step-children who are also grown. One of my daughters was an early childhood special education teacher who is now a stay-at-home Mom, and the other one is studying at Carthage to become a science teacher. I am married, and my family is very important to me. My husband is a farmer and a carpenter.
I love to sew and quilt, and I am a stamper. I like lots of different kinds of arts and crafts. We also love camping and traveling. I love to read. Right now we are working on preserving all the garden produce from the farm.
