Dear Families of Room 32:
I
want the children to look forward to coming to school each day. I also
want each student to feel comfortable and safe in my classroom. It is
my job to teach, and to ensure that each child experiences success. The
work will be challenging at times, but they WILL be able to learn it if
they pay attention and work hard. Please encourage your child to
always do their very best. Second grade should be fun. If there is a
problem, please encourage your child to tell me about it, or you should
alert me so I can rectify the unpleasant situation.
Welcome
to second grade in Room 32! I am very happy to be your child's second
grade teacher. The beginning of a new school year is always an exciting
time for the children and for me. I have lots of new ideas and I’m
looking forward to working with all of the new second graders and you,
their families.

I will be sending notes, letters and reminders home every Friday in the Friday Folder,
as well as contacting you by phone. You are always welcome to visit
Room 32 or to call school (664-6050) and ask to speak to me during the
day. (12:30-1:00 is the best time.) You are also welcome to call me at
home in the evenings if there is a problem (639-5218). Or you may
prefer to send a note, or email me at kim.gloede@rusd.org. I answer all emails daily.
I’d
love to have you come in and help, too. You could come on a regular
basis, or just once in a while. Second Graders love to see their
parents at school, (and they won’t always feel that way!) If you are
interested, check out our Volunteer page.
Second
grade is an important year in your child's school career. We have a lot
to do each day. It is a long and busy schedule. Your child will soon
get used to the fast pace and quantity of written work. It is important
to be sure your child gets a good night's sleep every night and a
nutritious, low-sugar breakfast before school each day. They need to be
dressed for the weather. Layers are good in case the temperature
changes during the day. Click here for more information about proper school dress.
Your
child will need to bring certain supplies in to school to keep them
organized. You received the recommended supply list in the mail, and it
is available at most of the stores in August. You can also see it here. Check our specialist schedule to see when to bring gym shoes and library books.
Again,
welcome to Room 32. I look forward to spending this year with your
child, and to meeting all of you at Open House and at conferences.
Sincerely,
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kim Gloede
